One of the major issues facing the city of Spring Hill is the traffic along HWY 31. During week days traffic isn’t bad at all, but during rush hour or the weekend the main thorough fair through Spring Hill quickly becomes a long and slow slog through town. While the ultimate improvement, a four lane road, is not in the immediate future the City has approved 9 smaller projects to help alleviate some of this traffic.
These improvements are designed to move people who are going to leave HWY 31 off of the main road through turn lanes in order to remove them from the traffic flow faster.
These projects include:
- Northbound right turn lane at Wilkes Court
- Northbound right turn lane at Commonwealth Drive
- Northbound right turn lane at Nasdaq Street
- Northbound right turn lane at Campbell Station Parkway
- Right-in, right-out intersection improvements at Nasdaq Street
- Right-in, right-out intersection improvements at Wilkes Lane
- Actuated pedestrian crossing improvements and traffic signal re-timing at Buckner Road
- Actuated pedestrian crossing improvements and traffic signal re-timing at Campbell Station Parkway
- Actuated pedestrian crossing improvements and traffic signal re-timing at Commonwealth Drive
